When Matthew Smith was 7, he was having some difficulties in his first grade class. The school called in his parents and told them that they thought Matthew should be on Ritalin.

They were also told that if they refused to take Matthew to the doctor and get him on Ritalin, child protective services could charge them for neglecting his educational and emotional needs.

Intimidated and scared, they took Matthew to the pediatrician that the school recommended and walked out with a prescription for Ritalin.

Long story short – At the age of 14, Matthew’s Death Certificate read “Death caused from Long Term Use of Methylphenidate, Ritalin.”

In the first grade, her teachers told her parents that Stephanie had a hard time staying on task and that she was making noises. She was given a prescription for Ritalin that seemed to work at first.

After awhile, Stephanie started having some problems again, and the doctor increased her dosage. The day the dosage was increased, she seemed a little out of sorts for awhile, but seemed to be doing just fine before she went to bed.

She never woke up.

After less than 4 months of taking it, Adrian was dead.

Cause of death – Suicide

Shaina Louise Dunkle’s parents were told by the school psychologist that their 8 year old daughter couldn’t stay focused, talked out of turn, couldn’t concentrate, and had trouble staying on task and recommended she go to a doctor because she had all the characteristics of ADD.

She got a prescription, and on February 26th, 2001, at the age of 10 years old, Shaina died. She had one grand mal seizure and died within minutes in the arms of her parents.

On 10/09/2005, after being on it for just 2 months, she committed suicide by hanging herself.

And the list goes on and on and on.

I wonder how many of these parents would tell me I did the right thing by taking Ben and getting him as far away from these drugs as I possibly could?

Well, as far as the ones I’ve talked to, it’s at 100% and I’m pretty damn sure that each and every one of them, if they would have been in my shoes today, would have done the exact same thing.

Just in case I haven’t made this point perfectly clear…

I WILL NOT ALLOW THE STATE TO FORCE ME TO POISON MY SON WITH THESE INSANE DRUGS – PERIOD!
